On an Autumn night in 1989, six of the best hunters and fishermen from around Wisconsin were invited to the small town of Omro as special guests to the Great Midwest Hunting and Fishing Expo.

After a night of sharing stories and comparing records, these great outdoorsmen came together to form Shad-Rapp, the greatest musical hunting/fishing comedy band of all time. Some suggest they are simply the greatest overall band of all time.

The Original Wisconsin Rappers

Big al Schlovatschlovitz

Byron Sweeney

Al Schlovatschlovitz is an outdoorsman of many talents. Hunting, fishing, eating, and drinking are his favorite pastimes. He is extremely cocky in the boat. Late night snacks make him happy.

Byron Sweeney is one of the lead rappers of Shad-Rapp, as well as the DJ. From pluggin' ducks to snipin' bucks, Sweeney has records across the state of Wisconsin. He is an accomplished hunter and has been a guest on many hunting shows over the years. Sweeney's head is shaped like a pear.

Charlie Polska

Earl Crap

Charlie Polska was famous around the Midwest for winning tailgate contests and picking up women at the bars. In 2002, he drank an entire can of Blatz through his nose. Polska is an expert fisherman (lake, river, and ice varieties). He also performed all the bass and guitar riffs on Shad-Rapp's songs.

Earl Crap is the ladies' man of Shad-Rapp, and you can see why. His fish allergies keep him off the lakes, but he enjoys squirrel hunting and meeting women at county fairs. He comes from the little town of Pound.

Pete VandenBoom, PFC

Shad Shawalski

Pete VandenBoom likes guns. He took a few hiatuses from Shad-Rapp for overseas ventures. On the few songs that sounded really bad, usually Pete was in the studio. His booming voice generally overpowers the rest of the crowd.

Shad Shawalski is the lead rapper of Shad-Rapp Shad often enters bass and walleye tournaments across the Midwest. He has a tough time keeping fish in his livewell, as it's generally filled with beer.
